Amid low temperatures, snow accumulation on Sunday is expected to stick. Flakes are anticipated to start falling around 8 a.m. and last until noon, then start back up at 4 p.m. and last until 7 p.m., NYCEM said.
Salt spreaders were active across the city, with plows ready to go if needed, according to the Department of Sanitation. DSNY said it has roughly 700 million pounds of salt on hand and plans to activate its GPS Room, which features a new Bladerunner 2.0 tracking operation to help keep on top of their salting operations.
Flights at New York City at LaGuardia Airport and JFK faced slight delays and halts Saturday afternoon.
