Two arrests have been made after a pedestrian in their 80s died after being hit by a car in Kent.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash involving a grey Mercedes Estate and a pedestrian on the A290 Gads Hill, in Gillingham, at about 12:10 GMT on Monday.

It was reported that the vehicle continued and was found in Eastcourt Lane, where the two occupants had left on foot. The pedestrian had been carried by the car and was found on the ground in Grange Road, the force added.
