Suspected drunk driver crashes into Palm Springs restaurant patio

A suspected drunk driver crashed into the patio of the Casa Blanca restaurant in downtown Palm Springs in the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 3, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
Police responded to reports that a vehicle had caused extensive damage to the restaurant's patio before fleeing the scene at around 1:19 a.m., police spokesperson Gustavo Araiza said in a text to The Desert Sun. He did not say whether anybody was injured in the incident.
Law enforcement officers located the suspect's vehicle around East Vista Chino and North Indian Canyon Drive and arrested Desert Hot Springs man Destiny Arellano, Araiza said.

He was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving and hit and run.
