St. Francis police issue "green alert" for missing veteran

St. Francis police need the public's help to locate a possibly armed and missing military veteran.
Authorities issued a "green alert" for Matthew D. Zens, 40, after he went missing around 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 28. Green alerts are issued for missing veterans who have a service-related health condition.
Zens was last seen at a home on the 3100 block E Koenig Avenue in St. Francis.
Police say he is currently going through a breakup of a 2 1/2 year relationship and was not it handling well.

A Glock G43X also was missing from the residence, and Zens did not show up for work at his job in Germantown on Dec. 29, according to a statement from St. Francis police.

Zens' family told St. Francis police he likes to drive around to de-stress.
His vehicle, a silver 2018 Toyota Camry, was last seen on Flock, a system of automated license plate reader cameras, on Dec. 28 at 7:32 p.m. at West Good Hope Road and North Teutonia Avenue in Milwaukee.
His Wisconsin license plate number is AAR-5179.
