A 43-year-old Odessa man was arrested and booked into the Ector County jail early Friday morning after his former wife accused him of threatening to kill her and following her to the police station.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call around 9 p.m. Thursday from a 31-year-old woman who said her husband had threatened her with a knife and was currently following her.

The woman drove to OPD where she met with an officer in the Municipal Court parking lot, the report stated.

After telling the officer her former husband, Yoandris Gonzalez Perez, 43, had just left northbound on Grant Avenue, she explained that she and Gonzalez had separated 10 days ago after having been together two years, the report stated.

She said Gonzalez came into her bedroom, told her he’d been thinking of killing her because she’d left him, threw her on the ground and held an 8-10 inch kitchen knife to her face, the report stated.

The woman said she was able to get up, leave and head for OPD, the report stated.

According to the police report, Gonzalez Face-Timed the woman while she was talking to the officer and he told her if she went to the police it would put him in a bad spot.
