The man charged with firing more than 60 gunshots at Global Vision Bible Church Pastor Greg Locke's former home in Wilson County more than a year ago pleaded guilty to several charges in court Jan. 12.

Tyler Poole, 21, of Hermitage, entered guilty pleas on one count of aggravated assault and two counts of reckless endangerment ahead of a scheduled trial on March 11-13. Poole has been jailed on a $50,000 bond since being booked on Dec. 4, 2024 according to Wilson County Sheriff's Office records.

Poole entered the pleas and answered questions calmly in an orange suit. Judge Brody Kane presided over the case.

“We have no ill feelings towards Tyler whatsoever," Locke said. "We pray he has a life changing encounter with Jesus. We hope he remains strong and healthy.

"We’ve all made horrible decisions that can either define us or destroy us. Our heart is for him to grow from it, get out and have an amazingly blessed life and family.”

Greg Locke and his wife, Taisha, had arrived home just after the gunshots peppered their home, a vehicle and garage, according to a Wilson County Sheriff's Office report, which said that at least one child was at home when the gunfire took place.

Poole was sentenced to five years in prison on the aggravated assault charge.

The gunfire at Locke's former home, in the 1700 block of Chandler Road in western Wilson County, occurred late on Sept. 3, 2024, police have said. The residence was near the former location Global Vision Bible Church met at in a large white tent at 2060 Old Lebanon Dirt Road.

No injuries were reported from the gunshots. The police report said an automatic weapon was used.

Assistant District Attorney General Tammy Meade told presiding Judge Kane that 67 gunshots were fired at Locke's former home. There were 64 shell casings found, Meade said.
