Kroger is closing all of its Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Dayton stores early Sunday night in response to the winter storm.

Stores in the region will close at 6 p.m. Jan. 25, a Kroger spokeswoman told The Enquirer.

Kroger plans to reopen on Monday, Jan. 26, at normal store hours, the spokeswoman said.

"The safety of our customers and associates remain our top priority," the spokeswoman said.

As the winter storm moves out of the Cincinnati region from west to east this evening, the National Weather Service says another 2 to 3 inches of snow lies ahead.

The weather service warns the back edge of the storm has not yet arrived. Steadier and heavier snow will move back in locally between 4 and 7 p.m.

Cincinnati, along with Hamilton, Butler and Clermont counties, will see snow stop between 7 to 9 p.m.
